The 2018 San Francisco Pride Celebration & Parade

The 2018 San Francisco Pride Celebration & Rally takes place from noon to 6 PM on Saturday and from 11 AM to 6 PM at Civic Center Plaza. Better than 100,000 spectators are expected to be on hand for the Pride Parade on Sunday, which steps off down Market Street from the Embarcadero at 10:30 AM. The parade, slated to feature close to 270 contingents, follows Market to the plaza.

The festival’’s Main Stage, set at Civic Center Plaza’s City Hall, will feature a variety of speakers and performers on both days. Saturday’s itinerary includes the Compton’s Cafeteria Riot theatrical piece, DJ and producer Hector Fonseca, and Trangela Lansbury’s Grrrl Gang; on Sunday, Our Lady J, Kehlani, and the Alphabet Rockers are among the performers while speakers include Annie Steinberg of the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco and Dr. Karen Skultety, executive director of the non-profit group Openhouse assisting LGBTQ seniors with housing and other services.

A variety of other Community Stages will be active during the Pride Celebration as well.

Pride Celebration Grand Marshals & Honorees

A host of both celebrity and community Grand Marshals selected by the Pride board and membership as well as by public vote will be honored during the occasion, along with special guests Gavin Grimm and Silas Howard. A number of individuals and groups who’ve made contributions to LGBTQ cause are receiving awards as well, including Ali Marrero-Calderon, recognized with the Gilbert Baker Pride Founder’s Award for making “a significant and historical impact on the LGBTQ community and the movement for LGBTQ rights,” and Shaun Haines, who’ll be bestowed with the Pride Community Award “for outstanding service to LGBTQ communities.”
